Mentors are adults from all backgrounds and disciplines who share their knowledge, whether it is technical or non-technical with our Tech Team students. While our primary needs are for technical mentors, but we will never turn away a parent who wants to be involved in their child’s activities in a non-technical role. Ideally we have 2 mentors for each of our 4 FTC teams.
As a mentor of one of our teams, you will empower students to become young engineers and future game changers. You will work side by side students to build their leadership and problem-solving skills and, more importantly, their sense of belonging and self-confidence.
We never want anyone to give and create a financial hardship, which is a big reason we avoid participation fees, but there are some ways for you to contribute without having a big impact on your wallet. Check out some of our creative fundraising options below and help where you can!
Do you shop on Amazon? Let them do your donating for you!! All you have to do is set up our Tech team as your chosen charity and Amazon will donate a percentage of all your purchases to our team.
Got a pile of cans cluttering up your garage or being thrown into your recycle bin? Donate them to Tech Team instead!
Two ways to give:
If you're selling on eBay, you can designate any percentage of your sale to the Tigard High Tech Team and there are NO selling fees applied to the portion you donate!
Donations are used to support FTC, MATE, and OGPC teams, team registrations, building supplies, tools, practice fields, and team uniforms.
Your support and contributions enable us to maintain an inclusive and accessible program to a more diverse student group by removing the financial barriers of club dues and participation fees.
